Vida Mikneviciute, soprano![]() Vida Mikneviciute was born in Lithuania. Following her graduation from a secondary school for music she pursued her master studies in singing at the Lithuanian Academy for Music with professor Jurate Bukauskaite from 1997-2005. As a scholarship recipient of the Erasmus Program she also studied at Hochschule F. Mendelssohn-Bartholdy in Leipzig from 2003-2004. Afterwards, from 2005-2007, she was a member of International Opera Studio Zurich followed by International Opera Studio Hamburg from 2008-2010. During her engagement by Hamburgische Staatsoper she already performed roles such as Gretel, Pamina, Adina, Zerlina and Micaela. Guest engagements led her to Festival d‘ Aix en Procence (Académie Européenne de Musique, 2006) and Theater Basel (2007). At the beginning of the season 2010/11 Vida Mikneviciute has started out as freelancing artist, in the current season she will again be guest at Hamburgische Staatsoper (as Freia, Adina, Helmwige, Pamina and Gretel) and will sing the soprano solo of Mahler’s 4th Symphony at Mikkeli Festival Finnland on invitation by V.Gergejev. Vida Miknevicuite not only won the first prize at R. Stolz Singing Competition „Wiener Operette“ in Hamburg in 2009, but also a Special Jury Award at Concorso Internationale per giovani cantanti lirici Ricardo Zandonai in Riva del Garda in 2010. She took master classes with: Francisco Araiza, Horst Günter, Margarete Honig, Hakan Hagegard, Thomas Hampson, Margareth Chalker, Harold Stamm, Kurt Moll, M. Lipovsek und B. Bonney and continues to work with Helen Donath on technique and interpretation. Aside from her opera performances Vida Miknevicuite is cultivating an active Lied and concert program (including i.a. Requiem and Coronation Mass by Mozart, Carmina Burana by C. Orff (Tonhalle Zürich) as well as German Requiem by Brahms (Laeiszhalle Hamburg). Her repertory also includes the following roles, not yet performed on stage: Le nozze di Figaro / Contessa - W.A. Mozart Così fan tutte / Fiordiligi - W. A. Mozart La Bohème / Mimi, Musette - G.
