Wilhelm Schwinghammer new roles at Hamburg State Opera: Figaro, Leporello and Il ré/Aida
After his role debuts as Sarastro, Leporello and Figaro at Hamburg State Opera Wilhelm Schwinghammer has also sung his first Il ré/Aida in a new production directed by G. Joosten. Hamburg Abendblatt wrote about his contribution to the evening’s success: „Zum Gesamteindruck nicht wenig trägt bei, dass auch die kleineren Rollen gut besetzt sind: Wilhelm Schwinghammers Pharao und Andrzej Dobbers gefangener äthiopischer Herrscher Amonasro hatten königliches Format - The whole impression is helped significantly by the fact that also the smaller roles are well cast: Wilhelm Schwinghammer‘s Pharao and Andrzej Dobber as the imprisoned Ethyopian ruler Amonasro were of royal quality“.
