Tigran Martirossian role debut as Dossifei/Chovantschina at Hamburg State Opera
After his role debut as Daland/Dutchman in december 2009 Tigran Martirossian has taken on another new role in Hamburg, this time under the baton of GMD Simone Young. Magazin Klassik wrote about his contribution to the evening’s success: „Aber auch sonst stellt die Hamburger Wiederaufnahme in mancher Hinsicht Idealbesetzungen bereit. Tigran Martirossians Dossifeij verstrahlt religiöse Inbrunst wie intensives Melos, so dass die Entscheidung zur Selbstverbrennung am Schluss zwar immer noch Grauen erregend, gleichwohl packend gerät.“ – „Yet, the Hamburg revival provides ideal casting in some respects.
